 | Gallery 3: Sketchbook Glimpses This gallery is dedicated to my dear beta viewer, Lady Masterblott, gifted with the eye of an eagle and the patience of an Ent. ******************* I always love to peek into artist's sketchbooks. And so I thought some people might like to take a look into mine. Some artists start and finish their picture on the same sheet of paper. This works only rarely for me, usually when I scrabble something and it turns out so well that I decide to make it into a finished picture. More frequently however I need dozens of rough preliminary sketches to develop my initial idea. Drawing many sketches allows me to work on various problems separately: how to get a pose right, problems of composition, or difficult details like hands. I can try several possibilities and compare the results. Don't expect flawless perfection in this gallery. It's mostly rough and dirty work that precedes a finished picture |
